Summer time is the BEST time of year (in my opinion)!
It’s the time for barbecues, picnics and outdoor activities. There’s nothing I like more than getting together with my family and friends and having a feast outside while the kids play and the adults gather around the bonfire.
It’s pretty much the best! The only thing about that scenario that I’m not fond of is the unhealthy foods present at get-togethers like that.
Creamy slaws or potato salads, hot dogs, potato chips, sugary drinks and desserts are usually the picnic staple.
Don’t get me wrong. Every now and then I like a good hamburger or bratwurst on the grill, but there are definitely healthier ways to enjoy an evening barbecue with your loved ones without all of the trans-fats or sugar induced comas.
