We often get the question, does your tea contain caffeine?
As with all teas, our Oolong teas do contain a small amount of caffeine – less than a cup of coffee! A small black coffee can have as much as 95 mg of caffeine per serving! If you have more than one or two cups, it really adds up quickly!
Caffeine can be addictive when taken in larger doses. That is why many people can’t even function in the morning before they have their cup of joe. Are you that way?
I’m not a morning person, but since I’ve been drinking Oolong tea in the morning, I don’t need anything else to help kick-start my day!

Do we offer any caffeine-free options?
At this time, we do not offer any caffeine-free options, however, we do have a cool trick to eliminate roughly 65% of the caffeine with each brew!
Caffeine is extremely water soluable, so the moment you begin steeping your tea, the caffeine gets transmitted into the water right away.
To keep from ingesting this caffeine, we have a little trick!
If you want to cut-down on the amount of caffeine you drink, but don’t want to give up your fabulous Oolong tea habit (who would?), simply place your tea bag in a cup of hot water for about 30 seconds, dump it and then steep your cup of tea for 3-5 minutes. This will eliminate more than HALF of the caffeine in your serving of Oolong.
It will not do anything to the delicious flavor of the tea, but it will help if you are at all sensitive to caffeine.

These levels are so low (from the tea) that most doctors wouldn’t recommend against drinking our product, so you can still enjoy your morning and afternoon cup of tea without any problems!
Are there any side effects from drinking Oolong?
All of our Oolong products are OFF THE CHARTS in polyphenols, which means they are excellent at flushing toxins out of your body. Unfortunately, if you are not used to this level of antioxidants, it may cause some discomfort while your digestive system adjusts.
We recommend reducing your consumption level down to once a day for 3-4 days, then going back up to twice a day.
You can also dilute your tea by adding more water or steeping your tea bags for less time at first.
We typically recommend drinking the tea 15 minutes prior to a healthy breakfast and lunch, however, this can get your digestive system working and could cause things to start moving (if you know what I mean). It is totally fine to drink the tea along WITH your healthy breakfast and lunch if you would prefer.
